The natural order of the wild can often resemble the natural order of man.
We see this among trees and plants, animals and insects, even the landscape.
The taller trees capture more sunlight than the short trees and plants closer to the ground.
Carnivorous animals feed on the weaker animals, as do more aggressive insects on the weaker.
Mountains direct rainfall along the paths of least resistance to later feed valleys and eventually the ocean.
Depending on who you ask, their response to this fact of reality may be negative.
But is it truly a negative thing, or 'bad'?
An ancient concept depicting a positive sentiment: whoever has more, much more is asked of them.
Responsibility.
Leadership.
Service.
Integrity.
Example.
Notice how in nature, the pecking order has a working purpose.
We recognize this natural order providing balance.
We also recognize a self-correcting ecosystem.
This is quite fascinating if we ponder it and explore the varied manners it relates to ourselves.
This is why I personally love watching animal documentaries and programming about nature.
I am taught insightful lessons about mankind that, I assume, was not the intent of the programming.
Peers.
Looking at the peer definition, notice the contemporary definition includes an inclusive and considerate understanding.. similar to this now world famous concept:
It is when looking at the natural world that I learn how best to approach and serve my fellow man.
I think this is the proper manner to recognize, appreciate, and deal with class structure and all the 'orders' man has made for himself.
The onus is on those atop this structure.
Since they are the more powerful, the more influential, the more visible, they also carry the responsibility to best lead the others.
This is where mankind takes a detour of sorts from the natural pecking order.
The detour is due to the fact that mankind has been endowed with a thing called 'conscience'.
But is it truly a negative thing, or 'bad'?
