Are You Building A Better Bottle Neck?

Any savvy entrepreneur desires to manifest a 'new' idea.

After the wheel was invented, newer and better wheel designs have been wrought perfecting that ancient design.

There is evidence of taking something that already 'works' and making it 'better' wherever one looks.

Fortunes have been made by a few small adjustments of things already existing.

Uber took the taxi / chauffeur / hired driver business model and added technological innovation.

Uber only 'owns' the 'bottle neck' through which a customer meets their driver.

It is like Uber made a better bottle neck using the internet to shuttle customer traffic to drivers signed up to Uber.

There is no need to own a taxi cab or hire employees for Uber, thus an entirely new business model was realized by taking a current idea (driver service) and making certain adjustments.

Lowering cost, adding value, motivating incentive, and a greater payoff factor draws both drivers and customers together...instead of customers to drivers...changing the previous market that seemed impenetrable or unchangeable.

Mentioning Uber is one example that is still current as of the publishing of this article.

There are several other similar business models and brands besides Uber, yet they are not as popular.

Similar to how McDonald's is a brand recognized worldwide although many other fast-food restaurants possibly make a better tasting burger, offer better service, and so on.

The winds and seas of the market are always changing.

The Uber business example may soon become obsolete when self-driving cars become common, and another bottle neck or (popular brand) is realized...and alongside it competing brands.

Yet while Uber (or that idea) still 'works', people are involved and those whose efforts conceived and implemented what is known as Uber have received their rewards in the mean time.

I hope they further invested their monies wisely.

Considering the ancient invention called the wheel, perhaps one day electrically magnetized roads will retire the wheel on vehicles.

Think magnetic levitation for vehicles, constantly being 'charged' or 'powered' from the electrified road grid, and always holding a comfortable riding space between the bottom of the vehicle and the road surface.

Perhaps a particular technology on such a magnetic grid will not allow more than one vehicle to occupy the same space, possibly eliminating or drastically lowering vehicle accidents.
