Remember Forever

Isaiah 41: 18

How does and will our memory serve us?

The human experience recalls the past according to the highlights imprinted on our conscious and subconscious.

We recall the emotional triggers and the lessons learned.

We forget the things that we were not ready or able to accept at that time.

Yet when the past is recalled at a later time, and experience has allowed for more lessons to be learned, the previously missed lessons can then be realized, learned and accepted.

Life is a constant growing process.

Life is fluid.

Life is beautiful, even when ugly things happen.

Have you noticed that when something 'bad' happens, a valuable and important lesson (or many lessons) is being taught?

The person who has triumphed after having failed many times in pursuing a goal, a project, a task or a dream, has learned that perseverance is a key ingredient to success.

And this is evident in all walks and aspects of life.

Work.

Family.

Faith.

Community.

Life.

It is our individual struggle, our personal and unique experience when confronting the challenges faced in life, that determines the outcome.

A builder of homes and real property follows specific instructions in the building plans.

Deviating from the plans and measurements may cause a catastrophic accident if / when a storm, earthquake or other unforeseen event occurs.

The buyer of a new vehicle receives a manual along with their purchase.

Failing to follow the maintenance instructions may cause the vehicle to fail prematurely, and may lead to injury or a loss of value in the vehicle.

And in life, most importantly and overshadowing all of life's events and experiences, where is the “manual” or “building plans”?
My son, keep your Father’s command and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
   Bind them always on your heart; fasten them around your neck.
When you walk, they will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you;
   when you awake, they will speak to you.
For this command is a lamp, this teaching is a light,
   and correction and instruction are the way to life.
- Proverbs 6: 20-23
His Word is instructions to the Way, to life.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
   and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to Him,
   and He will make your paths straight.
- Proverbs 3: 5-6
According to His Way He will make your paths straight.
Stand firm, and you will win life.
- Luke 21: 19
