Duality...Why?

Water acts like a medium, a conduit, a passage, a purifier and cleanser in many ways.
Water's work for many is noticed in physical ways, yet water's purpose is spiritual.
It is in and by water one is baptized into the kingdom of God.
It is through water one is born again.
It is through water man's participation (obedience) with God is realized.
Consider how looking down, in this image, a view of what is above is granted.
What else can be sees in water's reflection and beyond water's reflection?
What does duality / dual mean?

Dual

/ adjective / - consisting of two parts, elements, or aspects

Why does duality exist?

The human experience is this: a spirit-filled being currently living in a physically bound reality.

The human is a living soul who, while on earth, currently resides in a mortal body.

Like water in a vessel (a cup), and one day that water is poured out... while some may evaporate while in that vessel.

Consider the science of water (H2O) and how water only 'changes' state, but never ceases to be water whether it is a solid, liquid, or gas.

We are constantly, and consistently, beside ourselves when in the flesh.

The effort of holding to a single mindedness without the understanding of this apparent duality may be grounds for psychological suffering.

I think the opposite is also possible: navigating within, between, and from the physical to the spiritual and back again can challenge one's psyche.

This is why I often write about the plethora of poor and limited and divisive identities that mankind has made for up themselves and has fooled others into believing... and the contrast the imperfect identities with the perfect identity found only in Christ.

This perfect identity is the revelation that we are children of a Holy God, a loving God, a God that created us to reflect His love and His light.

We are made in His image, His likeness, and exist on earth to love and serve one another as brothers and sisters.

This is why when we sin, or find ourselves in sin, we suffer and are shown to be outside this holiness that only Christ perfectly defined in His walk while on earth.

Thank God for His bounty of grace and His patience with us.

Those who, despite their purposed thorns, continue to live in their sin and deny their sin, but instead follow justifications and worldly arguments that deny the Gospel and call God a liar, their psychological departure is evident, their dissonance massive, their hostility festering below the surface.

These are those who call themselves 'Christians' yet call what is evil 'good', or throw God's law to the ground.

They are those who follow instead the ways of this world, but not the faithful calling of Christ.

So when a 'Christian' argues it is okay to kill another human, whether a human still in the womb or suffering in old age or a criminal, they do not see Christ clearly, but only man's ideas and faulty identities.

Also when a 'Christian' identifies more with a political slogan, or a clan, or a tribal mentality and not the calling of God that brings all people from all walks of life into His family, they are quite blind and confused.

Consider the following excerpt regarding the dual nature (and that battle) of the faithful, those called heavenward, those who are called from the heart to be like Christ although they may be viewed by the hostile as unwanted refugees, or undocumented persons, or persons born under any of the many faulty ideologies... yet reflecting Christ in their hearts:
Therefore, since Christ suffered in His body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do—living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. They are surprised that you do not join them in their reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you. But they will have to give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. For this is the reason the Gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to human standards in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit.
The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Yeshua Christ. To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when His glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the Name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that Name. For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And,
“If it is hard for the righteous to be saved,
what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”
So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.
- 1 Peter 4
Notice where it speaks of the ways of this world, the flesh, the lifestyles leading to death: “... what pagans choose to do—living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. They are surprised that you do not join them in their reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you ...

Notice where speaks of the battle in the flesh (and the mind) when mentioning the struggle: “... do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ ...

Notice, lastly, where it speaks about the duality: “... judged according to human standards in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit ...”

This passage speaks further on these concepts and illuminate things that only those who truly follow Christ can attest to:
Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make it our goal to please Him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade others. What we are is plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your conscience. We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart. If we are “out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that One died for all, and therefore all died. And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again.
- 2 Corinthians 5: 6-15
