The Silent Voice

Every generation faces difficult challenges. The world's cultures Today are measurably ordered after religious and legal views. These cultures reflect a swinging pendulum of order between moral, ethical and commercial laws. Sometimes these three points intersect, other times they detract. Laws come and go, edited and erased by people's hands. This pendulum typically swings according to popular sentiment and a leader's heart condition. However, not all people are swayed by popular sentiment.

Progress is seen as evolutionary, as growth and maturity.

Sometimes, 'progress' is actually devolution.

Murder is outlawed for individuals, but allowed and justified according to political policy. You cannot murder, but the state can murder you. Of course, the state's act isn't termed 'murder.' It's called 'justice.' A group of people decides to kill someone, it's called justice. The individual decides to kill someone, it's called murder.

Going further; the unborn can be 'legally' vacuumed from the womb. This 'legality' has been decided also by a group of people. An individual can choose to murder the unborn, but this act isn't called murder.

Why not?

The unborn is not called a 'human.' The unborn has been dehumanized, called some new term. It is clear what will come of the unborn once born. However, people make terms to justify their intentions. Lethal force is termed justice, abortion is termed 'termination of pregnancy.' Pregnancy was onced called 'with child.'

Some believe society as a whole is becoming 'better.' But here we see how men make laws to justify their actions, but the removing of life is still the act of murder, despite a newly made term.

As culture's morality loosens, so does order. In pursuing utopia, man dismisses past lessons of depravity which wrought disorder. The effort for perfection becomes a curse.

Why?

Man seeks perfection according to his terms.
