Guess What?

I don't know or hold anything personally against (or for) the candidate.
I thought the advert, like all political slogans, to be a stretch of one's imagination.
It desires me to believe (to guess) that this John is "one of us".
I hope so, but such cannot be clearly concluded... but only guessed at.

/verb/

- estimate or conclude (something) without sufficient information to be sure of being correct

A single word can mean a variety of things.

In the case of the word 'guess', you've read one definition.

Another definition that may seem to contradict is:

- form a correct conclusion about (something) by guessing

We can understand that a guess is concluding without 'knowing' that conclusion is correct.

We can also understand that guessing does not always mean concluding incorrectly.

Our guesses are often times correct.

We also have (hopefully) learned when our guesses were wrong.

What is not clearly perceived can, often times, only be guessed at.

Man is very keen on guessing.

Fervent identities have been built upon elaborate guesses.

Through guessing does man fill-in unknown gaps between what is perceived to be known.

When pride is put aside, man is better able to correct what was previously believed to be known.

There exists a world that persists being built upon the guesswork of men.

Despite man's ignorance or arrogance of certain things, man isn't always wrong.

This is why and how a wide variety of cultures, despite their unique differences and contradictions, are very similar.

The shared human condition.

This is why despite any certain culture's thoughts on war, or marriage, or stealing, each culture has these dynamics in common.

Although concepts of ownership of land, or payments of rent, have not always existed, the concepts of greed, theft, and murder have.

It could be said that as one man guessed at something, that guess turned into a constant.

The constant turned into expectation.

But something expected as 'typical' or 'normal' is not always right, or good, or true... but simply persistent.

Man is persistently wrong, and continues to be in grievous ways unbeknownst to him.

This is why we find in all cultures stark contradictions in their way of life, their laws, their rituals, their religions, their 'rights', their very selves.

There is the outlawing of theft and murder, yet those enforcing the law continue to thieve and kill.

Actions are perceived and interpreted differently, or must be, in order for this charade to persist.

Critical thinking is suspended.

It is in this suspension of critical thinking that man continues to guess... and guess wrong.

In this guesswork is how people rationalize absolute contradictions.

This is how, for example, a man outside of his occupation (job) is restricted from taking the life of another human being.

Yet when that man is working (on the job), he is the executioner or the judge deciding death.

That man likely is not 'guessing' at his contradictory life, but has been fully convinced.

He perceives (guesses) that this form of justice is 'correct'.

He has already assumed the government, system, law, and the agreement of contemporaries and peers somehow makes 'right' the obvious wrong of the contradiction.

He and they are, after all, merely guessing.

Not sure, then, what 'god' any man (or nation) trusts in, or believes in, because my God holds no contradiction in His hand.

The laws of men in every 'nation' or government on earth contradicts God's law.

With my God, there is only Light... while darkness and the grey areas of this world hold contractions and guesswork as man's highest achievements.

The God I trust in does not condemn any man to death while that man breathes.

Some who claim to know my Lord and my God argue that death is God's justice on earth and they somehow have a 'right' to execute another human being.

To imagine Christ making such an argument is to reveal the 'gods' that such an argument believes in (gods of this world), but not the Holy One revealed from Above.

There is no guessing with my God, for the Word speaks from eternity and lives in the hearts of the faithful.

The faithful have no need to guess about things unknown or keenly suggested to them.
