A Sign For The Times

Sign

1- An object, quality, or event whose presence or occurrence indicates the probable presence or occurrence of something else.

2- A gesture or action used to convey information or instructions.

Signs show direction.
Signs reveal the unknown.
Signs can be missed, misunderstood.


Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: 

The virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son, and will call Him Immanuel.
 
- Isaiah 7: 14

[Immanuel means “God with us” in Hebrew]


What would this particular 'sign' be like?


For to us a child is born,
    to us a Son is given,
    and the government will be on His shoulders.
And He will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of His government and peace
    there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
    and over His kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
    with justice and righteousness
    from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty
    will accomplish this.

What use was this particular sign when it appeared?


In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Yeshua:
 
Who, being in very nature God,
    did not consider equality with God something to be used to His own advantage;
rather, He made Himself nothing
    by taking the very nature of a servant,
    being made in human likeness.
 And being found in appearance as a man,
    He humbled Himself
    by becoming obedient to death—
        even death on a cross!
 Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place
    and gave Him the Name that is above every name,
 that at the Name of Yeshua every knee should bow,
    in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
 and every tongue acknowledge that Yeshua Christ is Lord,
    to the glory of God the Father.
