Their Actions Reveal Their Hearts

The teaching of righteousness makes no sense to the person who justifies defending themselves in the face of violence. Those who take great pride in their religion, justifying their revenge or defense of their persons, property or principles, fail to realize what it means to put all faith and hope in God.

Instead of faithfully taking God at His Word, they take matters into their own hands, using their logic, their wisdom and their ways.

It is no coincidence that those who walked with Christ and those who walked with His Spirit for the 300 years prior to Rome turning the faith into a religion, did NOT use violence to either defend themselves nor to proclaim the Gospel of Life after death to others. This fact cannot be refuted by secular historical records.

Those claiming then or Today to know Christ, yet contradict the teaching of righteousness, know not the Prince of Peace.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary:

If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
   if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

- Romans 12: 14-21
