Hard Times Can Be Prevented

When conflicts arise, it is easy to see what others do not see, much like it is difficult to see what others do see.

How is this possible?

When it is you who is in conflict, emotions run high and the argument your mouth makes seems justifiable. You are right, right? When it is you who is involved, and when it is you who is wronged, instant justice is your remedy.

However, when it is another person who is embroiled, isn't it true you can see clearer what is happening? You can sometimes objectively make judgements on what has occurred and foresee what may occur.

If only we can objectively see when it is us who is experiencing the blinding emotion. I'm sure we've been in situations where no matter what we do or say, we cannot diffuse another person's emotional complaint. Perhaps we can also realize how sometimes another person cannot diffuse our personal emotional complaint. Hindsight brings the lesson, if you are the type of person who takes inventory of such things.

What is a kind grace is the fact that we do not always have to pass through an experience to learn the lesson. This is such a kind grace! I have been fortunate to experience this grace through the storms that others have sailed. But sadly I can be the type of person that learns best when I personally travail the stormy sea. My pride.

To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue.

The Lord detests all the proud of heart.  Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.

In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

- Proverbs 16: 1, 5, 9, 18
