Why You Are Chosen
“I am the true
vine, and My Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in Me
that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He
prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.”
- John 15: 1-2
- who is the true
vine?
- who is the
gardener?
- what happens to
the branches that bear no fruit?
- what does it mean
to be pruned?
“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you so that
you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that
whatever you ask in My Name the Father will give you. This is My
command: Love each other.”
- John 15: 16-17
- who makes the
choice in this relationship?
- your appointment
is for which purposes?
- what is the
command?
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Against such things there is no law.
- Galatians 5: 22-23
- what are the
several fruits of the Spirit?
- which law opposes
these fruits?
His divine power has given us everything
we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us
by His own glory and goodness. Through these He has given us his
very great and precious promises, so that through them you may
participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in
the world caused by evil desires.
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.
- 2 Peter 1: 3-7
- what does it mean
to participate in the divine nature?
