It Is You
The old has to pass away in order for
the new to be realized.
As Yeshua was leaving the temple, one of his disciples said to Him, “Look, Teacher! What massive stones! What magnificent buildings!”
“Do you see all these great buildings?” replied Yeshua. “Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”
- Mark 13: 1-2 (~33 AD)
Contemporary Jewish historian Josephus wrote that the city [Jerusalem] "was so thoroughly razed to the ground by those that demolished it to its foundations, that nothing was left that could ever persuade visitors that it had once been a place of habitation."
- Josephus, Jewish War, 7:1:1 (75 AD)
The temple building couldn't house God's vastness.
To those who sold doves He said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!” His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.”
The Jews then responded to Him, “What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?”
They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” But the temple He had spoken of was His body. After He was raised from the dead, His disciples recalled what He had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Yeshua had spoken.”
- John 2: 16-22 (~31 AD)
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
- 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20 (~55 AD)
