Still Subcontracting Your Work?

Have you noticed that some people in 'modern' societies have been subcontracting their responsibilities? Subcontracting is practical, convenient and sometimes wise. Other times, it is unavoidable and perhaps the reason why things are as they are.

Specialization is great when all parties find their return adequate and fair. Having to learn how to build a house, install plumbing, electric wiring and perform the labor in order to have a house isn't practical. In other words; you don't have to become a house builder in order to have a house.

However, you do need to learn how to build a home in order to have a family.

Where and when is subcontracting arguably not the best choice? Schooling for the labor class is essential for that portion of society that is incapable of teaching their children while also providing for them. This is where teachers instruct children what the parents are not specialized in. However, the teacher's vocation isn't to raise children. This is the occupation of the parent, or should be. Manners, ethics, discipline and building character is the occupation of the parent, or should be. Subcontracting this very important work out to others is a disservice to children.

Today's western societies are glorified because of the material wealth they produce and the power they wield, but what good is wealth and power when the very foundation of society isn't properly built?

People look to a priest, pastor, imam, guru, etc., instead of themselves according to the tenets of their faith.

People look to the banker to increase their money, instead of learning to handle money.

People look to the politician for change, instead of becoming the civic leader they desire.

People look to others to raise their children, instead of being the first and continued teacher their children need.
