To His Glory

Throughout time men have claimed they knew God (“I know something”), their God was more powerful than another god (according to winning battles), they are with God (“we follow God”), God is with them (“God is with us”), etc.

Man has made objects to look like god(s) (figurines/statues/drawings/paintings). Men also made themselves to be god(s), either after death (kings/rulers/dictators/gurus) or during their lifetime (Nebuchadnezzar/Caligula). We've seen men who considered themselves divine or having a divine place among other men (Alexander/Cyrus).

Throughout the prophecies of the old covenant, fact of God is revealed. One ancient revealing was done through Moses when dealing with Pharaoh. Egypt's regional hegemony ended shortly after Moses and Israel departed.

The knowledge of 'who' God is came through the Hebrews, not because this 'people' or 'group' was “better.” God chose a man, named him Abraham, and eventually revealed who God is. Abraham's children were the Hebrews.

The evidence Christ's message of love embracing all humanity, the testimony that Yeshua was “God with us” (Immanuel), is the fact that HisName has absorbed nearly all peoples, strongholds and cultures in the world.

We see God made for Himself a people to eventually reveal the Messiah. After the revealing of the Messiah, the proving of lineage and bloodline was accomplished. No man or ethnic group can take pride in their heritage, although they do try and argue to no end.

“So in Christ Yeshua you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Yeshua. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

- Galatians 3: 26-29
